Save Money

Savings turn on the cost of electricity, the amount of your washing, and the efficiency of your tumble dryer. A smart meter helps you estimate savings, but isn’t necessary.

Customers say savings can be substantial. The Attkins in Arran found the Dryer halved their electricity, and paid off in 72 days. Jane Noddings says in the B&B video that the Dryer returned their money in less than 3 months, and pound for pound, was far more effective than their solar panels.

Moira says

“I got rid of my tumble dryer altogether. I like to work with nature. Drying takes longer if it is still, damp or frosty but you'll get there in the end. And winter wind actually reduces drying time. Creases are blown out, so you have less ironing. Clothes feel soft and nice.

You can see from the B&B video that Mull businesses agree”.

Save the Planet

In October 2018, the IPCC told the UN that keeping global warming to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels needed "deep emissions reductions" and "rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes". A rise of 2°C would be catastrophic. Their report resulted in the Extinction Rebellion.

We are all very concerned, but feel at a loss. What can we do to help? Why not dry your clothes in a Shieling Drying Tent using just wind, natural and free?
